Are we speaking competitively or just overall? If it's overall, then for me, it's Gen 2 without any contest. There's too much cutesy shit in its roster, and most if not all that doesn't fall in this category is either post game only, has absurd conditions to get it or an appearance rate that would have made it near impossible to find by surprise without looking it up. Only exception is probably Crobat.

You have speedy pokemon like Lycanrock Sun and Ribonbee and plenty of bulky ones like eviolite chargabug.

Gens 2 and 4 were worse for having babies and more evolutions for pokemon in previous gens. Gen 4 pokemon were mostly forgettable

I guess that's fair. The only real exceptions I can think of right now are Granbull and Stantler, which both look like Fisher Price toys.
Speaking of trade evos, those really need to be fixed. I understand and appreciate the intent behind them but all they really end up doing is making certain Pokemon near-impossible to obtain for casual players.

Did Murkrow evolve in Spaceworld? It's one of those Pokemon that just looks like a first stage.
That said, I checked its stats and it looks like a fast, frail mixed attacker. It's obviously been fucked by power creep over the years, but was it really a shitmon at the time?

I watched Age of Ultron back-to-back with that Liam Neeson movie where his son is being hunted by the mob and I think the latter actually left a bigger impression on me.
In fact, the only Marvel movie that seems to have had any actual effect on pop culture as a whole is Infinity War.
