I played with Smogon rules in NetBattle / Shoddybattle / Showdown whatever until Gen V, and then got sick of it, as they constantly change the ruleset every week so if you don't play for 4 months all your teams aren't usable anymore and you have to study all the new metagame again. I don't have time for that. Smogon should never have ever existed if GF was competent enough to not throw into the trash the immense potential Pokémon has to be a online competitive and casual game ever since late Gen V when everybody had an online connection. PLEASE GF, just create anything so that I could plug and play online Pokémon battles in the Switch with someone just the way it happens with Smash Ultimate, Splatoon and whatever. I really miss playing competitive Pokémon, it's a great game.
