I disagree. I think the different design styles all have their pros and cons, and one of the boons for genwun design was that it made blobby/fat/kaiju mons look good, which is something that gen 3's design philosophy arguably did not do as well.

I don't think Dragonite would have been pulled off well with those styles, even if I think they're alright designs. You're free to disagree, though.

I dunno. Makuhita and Hariyama were likeable IMO. Gulpin and Swalot were just blobs so hard to judge. But Salamence had a lot of features that suggest it actually flies fast, whereas Dragonite just has its dex entry stating it does.

I think Dragonite could have acquired some nice features from gen 3 styles.

I do want to note that gen 3 is my all-time favorite gen so the is a little bias here...

It's hard to visualize desu. I didn't really think Gen 3 had "a style" until I started browsing here the past few weeks. Just didn't come to mind. Now I'd like to see some Pokêmon redesigned with different gen styles in mind.

dragonite and tyranitar are possibly the most out there pseudos because they have so little in common with their first and second stages.
I wish Dragonite got a Alola that looked more like dragonair dragonair was my favorite duragon for a long time

Meanwhile Dragonair goes from slender angel eel to fucking Barney. I was beyond dissapointed as a kid when my dragonair evolved into fatso dragon.
