Not because it's bad, but because it doesn't really do anything. It goes from being a weak ghost-type physical attacker with low bulk and low speed and no coverage to a moderately powerful ghost-type physical attacker with low bulk and low speed and no coverage with prankster DBond.

It's like they thought "Hey, prankster Dbond would be cool" but there wasn't enough time to make a new Pokemon so they just gave Banette a mega because they figured no one would notice.

The only thing underwhelming about mega medicham is that it got released at the same time as mega mawile. Otherwise, it's good.

Its basically a faster Crawdaunt without a focus sash+gets a good move for double battles(fake out)

But it legitimately improves Medicham's design. It's even got cool spectral arms. I'd say Mega Kangaskhan's is the most underwhelming but it's a nice use of megas and powerful too.

I think if it had Friend Guard, it would be seen much better in Doubles. The only Pokemon with that ability are unevolved and Vivillon, none of which are exactly "bulky."
