>>37888043Listen I can get that in Pokemon, if a move has 100 Accuracy, then in a completely neutral situation, without elements like Accuracy/Evasion (de)buffs or Abilities that influence those stats, the move should essentially be guaranteed to connect with each usage.
I can get that in Fire Emblem, if the battle forecast says my unit has a 30% chance of delivering 27 damage to the enemy and defeating him, but the enemy has a 70% chance to counter with 36 damage and kill mine, then this is probably a move I should avoid making, and get my unit out of the enemy’s range.
But Focus Blast missing so often for people that it’s become a bit of joke in the community as “Focus Miss” must mean something, does it not? You don’t even see people complain about the Sleep-inducing moves, or the powerful, status-guaranteed moves like Zap Cannon, Inferno, or Dynamic Punch, and those moves have even lower Accuracy than Focus Blast.
