>>37887486they could, theyre just lazy. battle scenes especially could easily be done. its just one fucking static scene recycled over and over. you could easily max out the graphics in those scenes for an incredibly flashy scene, at the very least a gorgeous background. instead they just put the flat piece of paper ground with a low res texture on it recycled form the overworld.
gorgeous battle scenes are one of the easiest and most effective things they can do.
