People have brought it up. It doesn't confirm anything though. There's nothing in the grass signifying an encounter is there. For all we know, you could just be able to walk slowly by tilting the joystick at any time. This gives us nothing.
That being said, I'm sure they'll implement some kind of encounter gimmick again, at least I hope.
