Okay scenario: Something minor that can be applied to any given pokemon to a significant degree; Z-crystals still had Z-moves that were objectively better than most given to "important" pokemon. If there's gonna be a gimmick like that it should be something that any pokemon can benefit fully from.
Bearable scenario: Something only given to certain pokemon, but it's given exclusively to weaker, more obscure Pokemon (Who don't already have a mega/Z-move).
