Elec/Grass probably. It learns a bunch of grass moves and its reference sheet refers to the white parts of it as leaves.

I'm really bummed out about Rotom having 4 unique type combos to itself; it really wouldn't hurt to make some more- pure electrics are really boring.

Electric in general is a boring type. We get so few of them each gen and most of the dual types are hogged by either Rotom, Pikaclones or legendaries.

Most of the rest are also fast pure Electric types that all do the same thing which doesn't help, so everyone ends up using Magnemite since they put it in every game. Or Luxray/Ampharos in their respective regions.

Electric's largest problem is that they get literally no other moves but STAB. Even Heliolisk is missing a bunch of moves that would be thematic.

Yeah, a lot of the designs are just mammal + lightning bolt (including that gen 8 mon we can tell from the silhouette already), which is so boring too. Adding in to the generic movepools, similar stat spreads, and the fact that the only decent physical moves are hogged by legendaries or Pikachu, and it really makes for a bunch of boring designs and boring movepools.

In terms of stats they're really lacking too. Tapu Koko alone makes half of the type irrelevant because it's the perfected form of the "fast mediocre movepool" electric type they shit out every gen.

Is it just me, or should GF start retyping older Pokemon along with tweaking their stats/movepools/abilities? They've already done it with gen1 > gen2 and gen5 > gen6 so it wouldn't pre unprecedented. Post your retyping changes to older Pokemon anons

I'd base a grass/fire on those trees that need fire to spread their seeds. Have it start off as pure grass and evolve when leveled up while burned.

Lets you get lots of regular animals that are cool in their own right but don't need elemental powers. Raticate, Tauros, Aipom, Bunnelby, Ursaring, etc.

Plus it lets you have 'generic animal attacks' like scratch, etc.

Fight/ground Pitbull line, parallel with the Granbul line

Bug/Dark trapdoor spider line

I haven't been told what the Fire/grass type is. but my source has confirmed it will be in the game, you get it from route 45, which is the one with the rock formations and dead trees.

And finally, I've been told there's a few new evolutions like gen 4 introduced.
The one that I've heard about is Poison/Electric. I'll let you guess which kanto mon it is.

I think they need to boost the base power of most normal type moves for the type to be a bit more viable since the STAB would help out a lot more then.
You're hugely limited by never being super effective, so with the stab boost you should do 70-80% of what most endgame 90 power moves would deal with STAB and SE combined.
A secondary normal type doesn't give you much benefit defensively (1 weakness, 1 immunity), so it should make up for that with offense.
