Because they realized the term "Gym Masters" isn't an officially revealed term.
I feel like its probably going to be officially revealed in a trailer today or monday, but that's just a theory.

I don't know if we'll get a trailer this month but I do think it was more than a typo. If it was a typo they probably would have just cleaned it up and tweeted it again.

Whoever runs the account was probably asked to make a generic tweet about the game and forgot that gyms weren't actually confirmed to be the stadiums. Maybe Gym Masters are actually what they're called, but maybe they just picked a random word that wasn't "leader".

It definitely wasn't an misstimed tweet for an upcoming trailer or anything, otherwise the screenshots would be new.

why would a social media monkey know stuff about the development of a entire different company. they pretty much get info they have to tweet out handed to them on a spreadsheet, and have to make a nice sounding tweet out of that info. more likely is that the dude just forgot what gym leaders were called, but he still had to tweet out the tweet that day.

I worded poorly, but I was trying to say they were told to tweet this out after a trailer, but forgot it wasn't released yet.

if they simply forgot that it was Leader and not Master, they'd have put another tweet up with the correct term

There's going to be a trailer soon but there was a scheduling mixup and they made a tweet too early.

Same thing happened a couple times in SM leak season, like the trailers for certain mons (Cutiefly, Drampa, Tapu Koko) being listed a day early, or the TCG sets for the starter final stages accidentally showing up on Twitter and being taken down shortly before they were officially revealed.

A company can't be embarrassed.
Sure, its a PR person behind the company, but they are simply shitting out tweets for a company. If the company told them to tweet something, they tweet it. if they made a mistake, they delete and put up a new tweet.
