>>37907147>two EeveelutionsFake. We will get one, not two. Two Eeveelutions of Dragon and Steel being released in gen 8 only satisfies 2 of the 4 established patterns of Eeveelution releases. While it does fit the patterns of the dual release with one type being weak against the other, and the pattern of being released in an even-numbered generation (disregarding the first games since they also released Eevee itself and therefore do not conform to these patterns), it fails the other two patterns.
The first pattern it fails is that it does not fit within the pattern of Eeveelution typing. All Eeveelution types are types that were considered Special before the Physical/Special split. And, while Fairy did not yet exist, it can be considered Special, as there is an empty space within the original pattern (pic related). Dragon is the only type left that can be made into an Eeveelution. After that is done, they will need to create new types.
The second pattern it fails is that it does not conform to the amount of Eeveelutions per generation. I've said it before here, but I'll repost it.
Excluding the first games, Eeveelutions are introduced in only even-numbered gens, with each reveal taking 0.5 away from the previous amount of new Eeveelutions but rounding up to a whole number.
Gen 2=2.0=2 new
Gen 4=1.5=2 new
Gen 6=1.0=1 new
Gen 8=0.5=1 new
Gen 10=0.0=0 new
Gen 12=-0.5=-1 new
So we will get a new one in gen 8 but they will take it away in gen 12.
