no.. that would be absolutely game breaking. Game Freak was lazy and didn't even texture the back parts of many objects on the map

Fixed camera is pretty fucking lazy, yes.
But not actually rendering objects and parts of objects that you can't see is what pretty much every game dev does since it's more efficient.
