I love how this is probably the pathetic incarnation of Red that's ever existed. He's didn't beat the Pokemon League and he didn't he stop Team Rocket, so he's just some literary who. They do mention Red and Blue both beat the league and they were rivals.

Its brought up that Red and Blue still did the events of their game, just none of the Team Rocket or more eventful stuff like encountering legendaries happened to them, as it all happened to the player in Let's Go.

This version of Red is the least impressive version, but he was still skilled enough to become champ, so that's something.

I like to think he was just cripplingly awkward as a kid, and was too scared to talk to anyone. until everyone started thinking of him as a silent badass after he captured the legendaries and defeated team rocket, so he just kind of rolled with it with the image to mask how fantastically unsociable he is.

I don't fully get if people on this site realize that's the standard anime characterization of people and are just memeing it up, or they're just plane old retarded.

Plus him not talking is a clear nod to the fact he was originally a player character, and the player's character never speaks.
