Yeah it was a fun burst of pokemon to play while waiting for gen 8. I enjoyed the new mechanics for the most part and got about 60-70 hrs in. Its also fun to play with friends or siblings. When i visit home my neices and nephews go nuts for it and its adorable. The simpler menu system and catch system are much more fun and active for them as they are pretty young and dont have a gaming background.

Would you pay $60 for Dash or Trozei? Id rate it about the same as them, though I havent personally played it. Wait till it goes on sale, then do so. Im not personally gonna get it until Sword and Shield come out and I know what I stand to lose by not getting them, and Im certainly not gonna pay full price.

Honest opinion? It’s alright so long as you understand what it is. I wouldn’t say it was worth 60 but it depends how much money you have I guess.
Mine was a gift and whereas I enjoyed it for a bit it got boring very quickly.

Borrowed it from someone to get Meltan. Had some fun with it until I stopped at the point where you get the Meltan box. Tried picking it back up again today, couldn’t really get into it. It really is just Yellow version with the same amount of animations.

it's fun to break early if you pick an early route favorite and catch enough to gather 200 species candy. poison sting brock's gym to death with a weedle. ruin the whole game with a nidoran. playing a remake with new mechanics traditionally will make for a more dull time than abusing them.

i played it for two days and got fucking tired as hell of it.
also it didn't give me the full remake feel.
It gave me the "wow look at me playing an HD spinoff" feel.

They literally included a 2 player mode so that parents can walk their kids through it at a younger age. Very cushy and toned down, but if you really need that Kanto fix, go for it.

Let's put it this way... My criticism will have to be posted via Pastebin it's so long already and I've yet to make it past Fuchsia.

Almost everything it does seemingly better or different is done in a 2 steps forward, 5 steps back mentality.

If you've literally played no other game in the series then maybe it's worth it to you, but it likely isn't if you have and liked the others.
