Considering my dad and uncle played pokemon with me through my childhood and teen years and still like pokemon but my mom never showed enough interest in it even if it was Let's go I'd still be happy beyond belief if my mom got into it.

Thanks. She was definitely pretty good. If I can figure out how to use and then transfer pokemon from a generator I may have to build out her team using only RB moves for the fun of it to see how it handles modern games.

You could ask an injector to literally generate the Pokémon, or you could buy Pokémon Yellow from the 3ds shop and transfer those to USUM with bank

Didn't know you could pokebank the virtual console releases. That's pretty cool though it does pose some problems with getting Alakazam.

I'll have to look around to see if I can find someone with an injector. I remember a few years ago people were doing it with QR codes, but it looks like that got patched and before it was done via direct IP linking in black and white. It looks a lot more complex these days.

it learns nothing special after evo in gen1.

bank it, transfer to USUM then trade it like any other mon.

Yeah the trade thing is going to pose a problem for sure. I was really hoping that generating would be as easy as it was in gen 5, but I'll find a way somehow.

As for names and moves I'll rack my brain and see what I can remember. I know we all used missingno. for stuff especially TMs. I know her Venusaur knew sleep powder and leach seed and her Starmie had substitute and recovery because I started using substitute and rest on my snorelax but it didn't matter because her hitmonlee would break the substitute and just about one shot him by the time he woke up.

I was poor as fuck growing up (4 digit yearly income) and my family still had three - two were mine and one my brother's.

Not to mention we had a couple of the older consoles as well. Doesn't require being rich, just carefully planned spending which my mother was good at.

My mom fucking hates Pokemon because of me. I remember when Pokemania was big, and it was literally the only thing that anybody was talking about. There was also my cousin that mom had to babysit most of the time and was also really into Pokemon, so that also helps. I think her breaking point was when it made it into TIME magazine, and I could hear her groaning in tired frustration from the other room.

I actually just talked to her now, asking what she thought about Pokemon. She just went on a long rant about how much she "wants to strangle that yellow rat bastard", and how the fuck this childish fad from a crappy Gameboy is even still around.
