It’s a mixed bag. Some stuff are done really well like how they handled Team Rocket as an organization in the early days of the anime, Team Galactic, and Team Flare. But it’s hindered by Ash’s stagnant character, lack of any progression, and relying on the same episode formula for 20 years. I think there’s potential with a lot of stuff they do that could make it a genuinely good show, but they really need to scrap Ash and Team Rocket and make the journeys through the region at the very least as short as Kanto for the sake of pacing.
