Especially with it moving to Switch where it'll be able to be on a big screen.
They could do it like BotW did: have everything be the usual "hmm hmm" talking sounds, but have key cutscenes throughout the game have voice acting.

Fun feature to make your own custom Pokeballs.
Seals were a good step forward, but I want it to go further.

An NPC that you pay a good amount of Pokedollars towards to teach your mon an egg move. This would be great for changes made mid-gen, like we saw with USUM granting new EMs to some Pokemon.

Or, even better, they play as a double agent. Though that might take away some of the player's agency and focus on them. I already didn't like Alola's story focus on Lillie and family drama, I don't want another game to do that sort of thing. BW got it pretty right in that regard, with N basically being your true rival if you will, and the conflict was primarily between the two of ya's.

Bianca and Cheren felt more like supporting characters to you as the player, while N literally had nobody aside from his Pokemon and supposedly Ghetsis.

On the topic of customization, I'd like some accessories for pokemon that appear in battle. At the very least a little bag for hold items would be a nice little detail for when your pokemon has an item. Ribbons, hats, scarves, glasses, etc would add a fun bit of personality to the games and you could even have Cosplay Pikachu's outfits come back as special options to give pikachu (and probably Eevee now) their contest moves.

This. Eggs too. Or have some kind of PC incubator you can stick mass amounts of eggs in, have them hatch under a time limit, and when you go to take the newly-hatched mons out, you can quickly check through them in their summary.

Move customization. Have two sub-item slots that are solely used for changing the properties of some attacks (with some restrictions obviously to prevent it cheesing to get perfect coverage). ie. A small base damage boost to attacks, changing normal type moves into different types and have this replace some pre-existing moves (ie. attaching water type to Quick Attack to use Aqua Jet), converting a physical move into a special analog and vice-versa, dual-type moves, etc. If you used some move combinations enough times, you would be able to learn them permanently without using customization (ie. QA turning into AJ permanently after 15 uses and/or perhaps a minimum level requirement).

Also, a move bank that allows Pokemon to keep four moves in storage that can be swapped out between battles. This would be useful so you don't have to go back to a move tutor to relearn a move that was once inconvenient to have around. This would be balanced by having the move swapped in having its PP reduced by 20% of its max (ie. a 10 PP move would have 8 when swapped, a 20 would have 16 etc). This penalty will not apply if you're swapping out a move that has max PP or if you're inside a Pokemon Center or a building/room that you can heal up at. It could also function as an HM bank so you don't have to drag around an HM slave throughout the whole game as "banked" overworld moves would still be usable.

Pokerides were on Alola. I'd think if GF were serious about replacing HMs with ride pokemon they would have had ride pokemon in LGPE, instead they gave Pikachu and Eevee special skills so that you have to use your box starter the entire game

Ability bank, show a member of a evolutionary line with a certain ability to a guy and he'll let you switch any future member of that line to the ability you showed him prior. That way GF can still pretend hidden abilities are rare but it's easier to fix shit, that and people's bros from 3-5 are easier to fix.

I want another option like switch/set to make the game more difficult. The default setting would keep the games the same, but when you turn it on it limits the number of pokemon you can use in trainer battles to the number of pokemon that the trainer you are fighting has. Game freak is never going to give every trainer a full party, but they could make it to where you have to fight trainers on their terms instead of just having more pokemon than them.

Like, who remembers finding the Regi trio in the original ruby and sapphire? You had to find a hidden underwater area, decipher braille, get specific pokemon and moves, then find the Trio after you unlock the doors. It was the coolest shit ever but anyone with a guidebook or an internet guide would never experience the raw sense of joy and accomplishment as someone who found it themselves. Alternatively remember trying to munchlax with honey? That was shit.

I don't think it really feels that artificial considering that full battle isn't the default rule set in any pokemon media other than the games. You don't see Ash running his full team against random trainers most of the time. Sure, a couple gym leaders let him use more pokemon than they did, but most limited him to the same number. As far as a difficulty setting goes I think it would be thematically appropriate and true to the setting.

I've always wanted a couple lines that evolved when leveled up while afflicted with a certain status ailment. One could evolve and gain fire type when leveled up while burned, and do the same for poisoned and paralyzed with other lines.

I never said anything about whiting out. You would just lose your money for losing and be pushed back to a spot on the route that is before the trainer could see you. You wouldn't actually white out until you were fully wiped. The extra programming required for this is the reason it will never actually happen.

HMs would be fine if they were good moves that you'd actually WANT your pokemons to be stuck with forever.
Like if Flash were 100% accurate and had a 70% chance of confusing the target in addition to lowering their accuracy, nobody would have ever had anything bad to say about it.
Surf is just water-type Thunderbolt with no status effect and nobody ever complained about it.

More expression from Pokemon models
Pokemon attacks that go off even if they miss, gives back that chill of it happening and missing. Also add percentage hits that vastly opens the hit threshold wider than regular hit and critical hit. I want barely hit and good hits to be included in basic hit and critical hit.

I'd like there to be a looming 1/65536 chance any time you're in tall grass, a cave, surfing, fishing, etc. that you'll randomly encounter a fully-evolved version of something that you'd expect to encounter and it's 1.5-2x the level of the regular pokemon on that route.
So like you'll be going through a cave full of L10-12 Zubats and suddenly you'll get jumped by a L24 Crobat out of fucking nowhere, or you'll be fishing with the Old Rod and pulling up a L15 Magikarp every now and then, but once in a blue moon POW you hook a L30 Gyarados that you have no way of dealing with.... that sort of thing

Eeveelutions that aren't stone-based were a mistake, in hindsight.
Espeon and Umbreon were a great demonstration of Gen 2's happiness and day/night systems, but it would've been better in the long run if they'd just introduced Psychic and Dark stones to evolve them with.

And these sort of Pokemon could be grown exclusively from trainers cultivating and propagating them.

Basically we all can make special forms of certain Pokemon, and when we do it's uncharted territory about their moveset variances and IV patterns. It would likely be a bitch to program, but that's what I would want to see. Actually do stuff with evolution and selection.

That already exists, it's called Terrain, and unlike Reborn, it's not a dogshit mechanic with twenty different effects PER FIELD that alter how moves and abilities work and require fucking documentation to understand, nor do they only exist to give Ame and her friends' obnoxious self-inserts even more of a blatant advantage of the player than they already do by virtue of the player not being allowed to have anything Ame deems "overpowered" (read: usable) while said self-inserts use them with regularity. All because Ame and her degenerate sycophants wouldn't know good game design if it was tattooed to their retinas.

Not sure if it counts but I'd really love a mini-game where you play the TCG and you can collect TCG cards. Any trainer can be challenged to a TCG match after you beat them and you can win rare cards this way, but you can also lose cards and need to win them back. Like Triple Triad from FFVIII. Even if it's not THE TCG a TCG in general would just be nice.
