Also, if you want another Electric type, you could do much worse than a Lanturn. Great HP, its stats may seem low otherwise but with high power attacks like Surf/Thunderbolt/Ice Beam/something like Confuse Ray or Attract, it's actually really great.

The only thing Crystal has over Gold/Silver is an easier time catching Suicune and missing out on Ho-oh and Lugia's signature moves since you catch both at level 70.

At least with Yellow you eventually get the other 3 Kanto starters even though you are cucked out of Raichu and a few version exclusives.
