It's not as bad as people say but it's definitely faster paced than OU imo. Moon series is ass though. Team looks fine as a skeleton but it looks like Kartana/Solgaleo could rip your team to shreds.

Not really. In tournaments you can see quite a variety of mons (OU).
I'm not telling you to use Dunsparce but you can do a Sun team, which is quite obscure, and win without gimping yourself.
Also, as long as a mon has a niche it can be used in some way.

Once you're getting into really high play, you can actually hit that sweet spot where using unconventional mons/sets is actually advantageous since opponents expect the normal movesets. Just make sure your team has counterplay for every major OU threat.
