>>37944838I used to go with naming conventions. I named all my pokemon in my AlphaSapphire after DBZ characters, the ones in my Y playthrough after Avatar characters, and incidentally after D&D Spells in FireRed.
In most other playthroughs I don't even name.
My first shiny, Ralts (that I was looking for at the beginning of my AS playthrough) I Named Tenshinhan, and I still have to this day as a Gardevoir, though I was heavily considering making him a Gallade.
