Anyone else give up on the series because they feel they are being cheated and lied to

>during the gap between gen 2 and 3, I branch out and play rpgs like BOF, Arc the lad, Lunar, FF 1-10 and tactics, seiken dentestu, Various Dragon quest games , Chrono trigger, All mario rpgs at the time. the list goes on.
>play Ruby for five mins at the store, and many of the features from GS have been removed, the graphic fidelity is abject shit, and they are still using static sprites
>buy minish cap instead
>see fucking how bad coliseum looks and I shy away
>skip third gen entirely
>recieve gen 4 as gifts
>the game is alright, but it just doesn't hold a candle to everything else plus the music is shitty
>play mystery dungeon, completely blows the main series out of the water despite it's a random dungeon deal

Gave up pokemon from then on, and just look at the stats and new mons once a new gen is release. I didn't outgrow pokemon, I just didn't want to be subject to medicore games. Anyone else feel this way?
