Based on my own experiences using them in-game. I realized that I've only used the Tepig line in Volt White 2 and wouldn't feel right ranking it based on a romhack, while I can't remember ever using the Piplup line at all. Venusaur benefited heavily from being used in the era of 100% crits on Razor Leaf. Sceptile and Blaziken are actually fine, but suffer mightily from "it's not Swampert" syndrome, a condition that affects dozens of starters across all generations.
>>37953733>I'm on the fence about Incineroar since I want to like it because of it's fun personality and ridiculous design (especially in smash) but it seems like a failure from a conceptual perspective because it seems more like a Character than it does a Pokemon. How did it evolve to look like that in the wild? It's entirely possible that it straight-up doesn't. Starters are rarely seen in the wild anyway, and the Alola starters in particular have yet to show up in the wild in any game. Even when they do, I doubt we'll ever get a confirmation that they ever reach their final stages in the wild, like a number of Pokemon don't (or really shouldn't). The Alolan starters' final stages would've made more sense in-universe as friendship evolutions, I suspect.
