Do you think GF should continue giving more bug/flying and/or bug/poison for the regional bugs each gen? I like seeing rarer types as with Vikavolt and Wormadam-Sandy but I welcome the common types as long as they pull something like Vivillon that has built-in variety.

Vikavolt and Leavanny were awesome and Vivillon was disappointing. If they can manage it well like they did with Scolipede/Vespiquen I'd be fine with it but I don't want another fucking Butterfree or Beedrill.

Vikavolt is cool as hell. Same with Pokemon like Silvally. That get cool ass designs and lore but aren't ever taken seriously beyond that because they get horse shit stats and terrible movepools.

At least Vivillon had a shit-ton of different forms. I remember scouring the GTS for the ones I was missing rather fondly. Admittedly it would've been better if it had been Bug/Fairy for something.

We've got so many of them that it'd have to be a fantastic design, it took 7 generations to get something as simple as water/bug final evos. I want more interesting bug type combos.

They could certainly do more interesting stuff than just bug flying and bug poison, thats very restrictive for such a diverse lot of animals. Bug dark moths, or bug fire moths based on them immolating themselves on candles, bug ground worms... I've always thought it would be neat if there was a split evo bug water nymph which evolved into a bug dragon dragonfly or a bug fairy damselfly. A whole dragon stealing the damsel in distress kind of thing.

They dropped the ball with golisopod. It showed the promise of an automatic panic button u-turn that could've been fucking amazing but instead they fuck it up by making it activate before a move can be used, effectively handicapping Golisopod to make it flee even when you don't want to switch out. We aren't going to see many bad ass designs like this in the coming future.

Best case - rare, unique combinations never done with good stats

Good case - Common as fuck combinations that are on pokemon with unique designs and good stats

Bad case - Common as fuck combination that is an early game shitmon

Worst case - Unique type combination evolves into extremely common one and is a shitmon

Especially with the association of eyes to the psychic type. There's so many eyespot bugs that would visually for that. Or maybe hive insects with a hivemind theme.
