Even though Charizard is shilled and an uninspired concept, there is nothing offensive about its design - It is literally just a fire breathing dragon. The first one of the series in fact, so Charizard's design is more of a "getting this out of the way" kind of thing.
Charizard is not good, but it is not bad.

Primarina and Delphox are the worst starters.

Would be better if it went full brontosaur with a longer tail.

Also it’s stats need to reduce its speed and up its defenses to make it a proper tank

It's bad in terms of stats, but it's design is so plain that it isn't necessarily bad.
It's pure and simple and to the point. It's similar to the other two in this regard.
I like it, but I DO wish it were better.
