I will be so pissed If Armor is real and GF still leaves Megas behind. It just speaks of this company's stupidity to not want anything to do with an old feature anymore...by introducing another feature that will undoubtedly work very similar to the former.

I think new megas are going to be more of a remake thing going forward. Which makes sense, it gives a new spin on iconic mons and adds something exciting to remakes, while allowing the new entries to explore other new territory. Plus, it solves the problem of how to make sure that the player has something in their party that can mega evolve, since remakes would undoubtedly be giving megas to starters.

I'm fairly certain the reason Alolan formes were Gen 1-exclusive is because they were already planning on Let's Go at that point and Alolan formes let them patch up holes in Kanto's dex.

Raticate, Persian, and Muk are all Dark type which Kanto normally has none of. Sandslash and Dugtrio are Steel, Exeguttor is Dragon, and Marowak is Ghost, which are types that are otherwise only represented by a single evo line. Golem and Ninetales are the only real outliers here.

Megas and Regional variants are just stupid gimmicks, a miserable compensation for not getting more than 100+ pokemon in gen 6 and 7.
I couldn't care less about them. Same I can tell for those alleged armored evolutions.
I want real evolutions of older pokemon not some retarded redesign.
