Pokemon's not going to get any better. It's basically over. The only way anyone can enjoy the games now is to give themselves some kind of head injury.

I think they look like they could be quite good myself, but I hope you find some other game to fill your time that you enjoy more. Personal favorites of mine include Bloodborne, Animal Crossing (there’s a new one this year!), Xenoblade, Breath of the Wild, and Stardew Valley. Maybe by stepping away from pokemon for a bit you’ll find a new love somewhere else!

Don't do it anon, I already have one and they're still getting worse.

Though I admit, it's partially because of it - I lack control thanks to the head injury. Combined with general autism I couldn't stop buying them until they literally put out shit last year.

What the fuck, we’ve seen just a trailer and people are already complaining about it. With the exception of the new region (that looks A LOT better than the old ones) the game looks the fucking same as every other Pokémon game EVER released. If you liked the old games but you hate this one you just like the other ones because of nostalgia and nothing else. Even if Game Freak decided to improve the game even more you’d still complain about the fact that it “looks awful”.

hopefully this exciting new generation will finally bring everythign they've learned together to make a really great game
what I'm looking forward to:

>gen III-level music, world, atmosphere, and style
>gen I tier pokemon designs
>gen VI updated features
>i havent played gen VII so i dont know the best part of the game

It’s just that the graphical jump from SM to this doesn’t look as large compared to Gen 5 to 6 and Gen 6 to 7 other than the fact that it’s HD. Not to mention, some parts like lighting and texture look off. Overworld design looks the same consisting of Mario Kart racetracks with a pretty meaningless background at fixed camera angles, battles still consist of two models from Gen 6 standing still with the same idle animations and one of three same animations for attacks. It just doesn’t feel like any exciting for me was there compared to the other 3D gen trailers, just more of what we got from SM. I’m open to have my mind changed in the future when we get more info, but for now...feeling nothing

Maybe that’s a good thing. Having expectations low. Just cus x and y and sun and moon had good trailers didn’t mean games were good.

If you compare sword and shield to any other Pokémon games. The graphics are best. If you compare sword and shield to like AAA game ofc not

I’m only really into it for the hype desu. The games may be meh, but SM’s hype train was fun as hell, seeing new Pokémon revealed for the first time and seeing reactions and speculation kept me motivated through the year and I’m hoping Gen 8 will also leave a good hype high

no one is going to ban you for that but there is a huge chance that you are going to get socially pressured into either shutting up because "you are whining for nothing" or changing your opinion. it will either happen because of some site's upvote system (like reddit for example, where you are literally silenced if people downvote you too much) or the lack of anonymity that could make things worse. /vp/ is also guilty of that, but to a lesser extent and it happens in both way (there's a balance of vocal fans that are either with or against the games).
