It almost did for USUM but that sucked because you got it at such a low level.

Ideally it should show up around the 35-40 level range

The evolution level is the worst part. Noivern isn't even that powerful compared to something like Crobat that you can get way sooner, which sucks as the design is amazing. I also have a shiny one that was a random encounter.

It's like if Zubat evolved directly into Crobat, but at level 48.

It is like that; the stat totals are the same and the stat distribution between Zubat/Noibat and Crobat/Noivern is near identical

It's the reason I brought up Crobat specifically. Crobat's typing and STAB moves are also better. Special Flying kind of sucks since there's nothing 100% accurate. Crobat gets Brave Bird by breeding or can just spam Acrobatics ingame but Noivern just gets Air Slash and Hurricane.

Noivern is one of my favourites. Just wish it evolved earlier, as others have mentioned. Honestly...Game Freak should really go back and retcon some evolution levels/methods. The Unova Pokemon in particular are awful to use because most of them evolve so damn late.

What Noivern movesets do you guys use? My in-game Noivern use Air Slash/Dragon Pulse/Roost/whatever last move fits the situation.

Fuck, I love Noivern and Mandibuzz (and Volcarona) so much but Gen 7 didn't give me any incentive to use them whatsoever even though they were available.

Make Noivern a level 30 evo, Mandibuzz a level 30 evo, and Volcarona a 42 evo. GF can excuse it with some stupid shit like "in Galar, Pokemon have a fighting spirit that causes them to reach their potential early" so they don't have to retcon because they're so afraid of it for some reason.
