The models are perfectly fine as is. What would be gained from remodeling it at this point? They purposefully made the models higher detail than the 3DS could even really handle smoothly at the time with XY so they'd be future proofed for later gens.
With Sword and Sheild, all they had to up were the textures and shaders. They SHOULD add more animations to them now that there's more room for shit cause Switch carts have RIDICULOUS compression abilities, but they won't cause they're lazy as fuck.
If you wanna complain, complain about that point, not the models.
