This entire sentence is wrong.
He is involved with SS, he is the producer just like he was in SM, in any case XY had the "washed out colors" and he directed that one.
The correct palette was also the one they used for the 3DS games since that's closer to Sugimori's illustrations.

And here's a redpill for you: Salamence was always one of the ugliest fucking designs Game Freak ever shat out. Fact. It was never, ever going to look good in a 3D model and I pity the animators when they realized that they were stuck with a Pokémon who's entire design is based on (and fundamentally FAILS) the idea of it being aerodynamic. Its ugly bulky flat body and cucked flat wings always looked like shit and were doomed to look awful when trying to show it flying. It's your fault for being so invested in such an ugly fucking design.

And that was always shit, even as a kid I thought it was dumb how most bird Pokemon were just shown standing static in sprites and art, and it would like even more retarded if they were like that in 3D models when every Pokémon has to have idle and attack animations.

That's subjective, I think they look much better the way they were designed to look, Noivern and Altaria look great in the air, while it doesn't make sense for a pokemon like Swanna to be flying at all times.

If you ever feel like pirating the Pokedex 3D Pro for the 3DS, you can see what the models would probably look like if someone slapped whoever came up with sky battles, a lot of the flying types are on the ground, but have an animation that shows them taking off to attack and then lading again, which looks a lot more natural.
