People always look down on it, but Delphox is legitimately one of my favorite starters and Gen 6 Pokemon. I think people just don't like that it isn't either KEWL AND BADASS like Greninja, or a kawaii waifu like Braixen.

it only has 5 colors, that's pretty standard for a starter.

Not liking them is another story but I'll respect that. Objectively they complement eachother just fine.

With all the bushy fur everywhere it looks like such a flammable design so it's a bit weird for it to be a fire type. Especially when it holds a lit stick so close to its hairy ears like this I can't help thinking how it's not catching on fire.

Delphox is not as feminine as Braixen but it's not androgynous. Hell, the face even largely remained the same. The body is too gentle and curvacious with especially wide and pronounced hips, a gender neutral design wouldn't have that. Its fur isn't styled after a wizard's robe, a robe would hide the body curves. Its fur resembles a dress. The design specifically screams "Witch", not just some "Bigender Magician".

The eyes no longer have the pronounced outline like braixen, which was the largest source of femininity. Also, braixen's face had a lot of white on it, which is more feminine than pure orange which delphox has.

Not sure if I qualify as a hater, but it's the worst of the 3 for me. I can forgive it for breaking the fire/fighting streak, but I wish they went in a different direction when evolving Braixen.

Braixen has its neat stick twirling after it attacks, but Delphox just does this "nothing up my sleeve" shit and it's really underwhelming. The robe aspect of its fur could stand to be more pronounced and its ear fur could have been incorporated into some kind of hair design instead of just getting bigger. I would have preferred if they made Delphox an old sage type character where the flames get white hot in places to resemble white hair and the stick goes to a full on staff. The most powerful mages in fantasy fiction are usually the old sage trope. It's final form is just wasted potential to me, but I stil like Fennekin and Braixen(and not in that type of way).
