Hoenn has got:
- Torchic line (3)
- Numel line (2)
- Slugma line (2)
- Torkoal (1)
- Vulpix line (2)
So 10 fire pokes, none locked to the post game, and 6 out of those 10 being new Pokémon. (Kantor had 12, with one of them being a legendary, so it's not that much different)

Sinnoh, on the other hand:
- Chimchar line (3)
- Ponyta line (2)
5 Pokémon (I'm comparing RS to DP, no platinum expansion, nor any Pokes locked to the post game)
5 Pokémon, only three new fire types.

And 6. Kalos had two Fire starters, Fletchling which becomes Fire type later on, Pansear, AND Litleo all available early into XY. Even around the second gym X players get Houndour and there's Eevee too.

Platinum fixed it, but HGSS didn't fix GSC's Pokemon distribution problems. Yet people suck its dick. Being Sinnoh is fucking suffering for some reason because everyone loves to shit on it while simultaneously praising a remake that isn't that great.

We all know Diamond and Pearl were a bit rough.

Platinum kicks the number up from two fire-type evolutionary lines to five though, which is still a little scarce, but at least makes it possible to use one. There's also some good variation of physical and sp. attackers in the bunch, but it could have done with maybe one more to add some more type variation.

Not liking fire pokemon doesn't mean none of my pokemon have a fire attack. Also normal effective moves were good enough to get rid of Bronzors.
