Someone didn't play Trash Go at all.

I know this because you'd have encountered 16 Zubat just on one level of Mount Moon if you did and wouldn't be talking such nonsense.

They move around randomly and fucking fast. You're less likely to walk through all of Mt. Moon in any of the games and hit an RE of it than you are to miss getting tagged by one of them that way.

Especially on the tiny floors when 6 things spawn at once in a room that's already filled with rocks, you, a ladder, and the Rocket Grunt, and possibly your own Pokémon.

The thing is that she is moving very slowly. There is no way that is your full movement speed in grass so either it’s analog sneaking like in ORAS or there is a crouch button maybe.

That's all it is. SM+USUM only had walk and run animations, they saved this for the Switch port to make the game feel more improved.

Looks like they decided to bring back the sneaking for Rare Pokémon mechanic in ORAS.
You find a shadow indicating a rare Pokémon but you have to sneak to get it. In this context, Pikachu is Rare in the beginning route, or is just a trailer example.

That’s fucking Rare, bringing back a mechanic from 2 gens ago. Wonder what this could mean for the rest of the game.

Yes retard, in ORAS it was. Now it's just an immersion feature. There was no shaking grass or other visual indication of a hidden pokemon in the new trailer. Just sneaking. No DexNav. That shadow is the trainer's shadow. Cry about it.

Except that doesn't look the same at all. The player is moving at a walking speed, totally upright, with a different animation for being in tall grass. The trainer in the SS trailer is moving slowly while crouched down. It might not be DexNav related, I wouldn't put it past Gamefreak to bring analog movement back and use it for absolutely nothing, but it's certainly not the same as the tall grass animation.

I don't understand why people are so against a Pokemon game with overworld encounters, combined with a region built around actually finding Pokemon in the overworld. It would be on par with JRPGs from 10 years ago yet /vp/ is adamantly against having a bigger, more immersive region with more to explore. Gamefreak has the funds, and it's been known for years that there are studios that do commission to work on a big name Nintendo title, so it's not as if Gamefreak wouldn't be able to handle the workload. Why do people keep making excuses for laziness? I don't get it.

It should be a mix. Pokemon shouldn't be awkwardly standing or floating in one spot with an idle animation. Have a few roaming around or interacting even. Keep the grass patches with random encounters but make the world feel like it's alive and not a boring game map.

Ever tried slightly pushing the c-stick? It lets you walk slowly. We have no reason to assume that her crouching is anything other than an environmental animation or due to her walking slowly. The shadow is hers and even if it weren't, yes we've already had the Dexnav before - the only difference is you had more info than a shadow for that.

To be fair, Sun and Moon dropped random encounters in caves so, assuming this isn't reverted, you won't have this issue anyway. Although overworld encounters are cool, I think the point we are at with encounters in Sun and Moon is pretty good and doesn't need changing.

I've already settled for the switch cant handle overworld pokemon in the way I want them meaning all 1000ish end up acting like a completely different animal with a different AI in ans out of battle plus each random trainer has a different AI and schedule. Until GF can do that with out removing HMS and without shutting up the game with dumbass regional variants and ultra beasts they need to keep making games very similar to XY and ORAS with just a little better graphics.

Nope. RNG is part of both. The element of surprise/mystery with random encounters has always been at the heart of the games. Thinking Game Freak would toss that after all this time, based on the moderate success of a watered down remake, is laughable.

That has nothing to do with it. It was called capsule monsters because the monsters are literally stored in capsules. If you look at the concept art you can see the trainer looking around physically for monsters, not walking aimlessly in one spot and waiting for random creatures to randomly approach him.
