It's not a matter of "wanting" them, it's accepting their inevitability. I mean, I was like you - I didn't think they needed to remake Hoenn either. But they did and then I saw the above interview and I knew they were always going to happen (it's partly how GF recruit younger staff - they hire on newbies every so often who grew up playing the game being remade next to get them working on the games after finding out most of the new staff they'd hired to work on HGSS turned out to have grown up playing G/S as their first pokémon games).

Meaning the omission of BF and all the other problems with ORAS really were the work of the higher-ups.

Wanting something because it's "inevitable" makes no sense either. All you're doing is creating a self-fulfilling prophecy by showing false demand.

Imagine if they did a lazy third version of BW instead of proper sequels because they gave in to all the drones anticipating a Grey version.

They were still great remakes. The sprite work is some of the best the franchise has ever had, there was no evolution block for Pokémon with new evolutions like Gligar and Yanma, following Pokémon was neat, the Gym Leader rematches were fun and they had compatibility with the rest of Gen 4 from the start meaning you could bring newer Pokémon through a familiar region if you wanted.

I agree, I feel bad for the hoenn boys who got the 3ds treatment.

Luckily platnuim is 4th gen which imo is the best gen graphics and gameplay wise. Someone should remake kanto (should be easy with hgss assets) and hoenn into gen 4 style.
