Am I the only person here who read these as a kid? I never see it get brought up anywhere. They were pretty fun.
Also general more obscure Pokemon related stuff thread. What Pokemon stuff did only you read/watch/play?

I read those. From a thread a few months ago, apparently Viz only localized a couple volumes, and it seems that copies of it in practically every country just fell off the face of the earth. Which is a shame, because it really was a comfy read.

I remember seeing it advertised in other Pokemon books, but I never actually saw it on shelves. Pokemon didn't need a "girl" version then like everything has to have now.

I wanted to read them as a kid when I saw it advertised in some Viz catalog or something (?) and even flipped through some in stores, but my parents didn't want to waste money on them that one time I saw them in person.

I did actually read Electric Tale of Pikachu at the same time, which in retrospect might have been the better option anyway since that seems better remembered now, but I've been meaning to check them out some day now that I could actually buy them if I really want to.

Also I have one chapter of the Chamo Chamo thing in a copy of Ciao or something that someone gave me, but haven't read that yet either.

It was cute, had Articuno selling ice cream, the main girl trying to peek into a Tangela's face and a lot of pokemon interactions without people around, almost like a proto mystery dungeon. I think there are more volumes that never got an official release and a (partial? or maybe they finished and I forgot about it) scanlation too.

Like the infamous Clefairy manga, it had a complete release in China. While the Clefairy manga was popular enough that it's not TOO hard to find people in china selling used copies, Magical Pokemon Journey's last couple volumes in English are fuck rare.
