Didn't most trainer classes in that game have some sort of gimmick? I haven't played in a while, but if I recall, Breeders would rechallenge you quickly, Doctors/Nurses would heal you after your battle, and I think there was a class that was more prone to using held items and what not?

Ah right. I wish they'd do something like that again, give classes more definable traits. It'd be neat to be able to see a trainer and have to consider not only what they will battle with, but how they will battle and what the pros and cons may be, like choosing to avoid some trainers so you can get to a doctor to heal your team up first.

Not really.
Rangers gave you berries because there was no other way to get them in Gen 5.
Seems more like a last minute fix to a fuck-up if you ask me.
