I'll be honest, I have a Gen 3 bias, it's my favorite. Haven't played Gen 4 in years, so my feelings on Chimchar are mostly nothing hence the "decent." Torracat looks like garbage to me, sorry.

Everyone has bias towards one gen or another. I'm really fond of Gen 2 so I get it.

Gen 4 was by far my least favorite in terms of pokemon deisgn. I liked the region based on Hokkaido, but damn if the art style didn't hit a low for me.

I just liked the design for Torracat alot in general, especially with the fire-bell, and the fact that the cry had a faint bell chime in it.

I decided to rank each type by scoring the mons based on their placement (last place gets 0, first gets 20) and I got:
Grass:
>2+3+8+9+15+16+17=70
Fire:
>1+5+6+12+13+14+19=70
Water:
>0+4+7+10+11+18+20=70
Thereby giving me the best taste.

I only judge pokemon based on their third stages, but because we don't know the final form of the galar starters I made an exception for them.

Didn't feel like doing the early forms, the only ones I really like are a couple of the first forms for cuteness and I always thought Croconaw was pretty visually appealing, cool theme and all that I wish was carried into Feraligatr. The Galar starters are placed where I think the final evos will end up, but it's just a prediction.
