Does anyone else like long grindy dungeons and routes filled with trainers? It makes me feel like me and my team accomplished something when I finish them.

I enjoy going through them in a single run, no flying or otherwise backtracking to a Pokémon Center or Mart allowed. Makes the abundance of free shit they give you feel meaningful for once.

I never understood why everyone hated this route, is it the marsh area? It has a nice contrast with the rain on the right side and the serene mansion on the top.

I never skip trainers and you shouldn't either. I actively fight all trainers available before moving on to the next area

I didnt realise how much I valued it until Gen 7. I liked everything about Gen 7 except the overworld and that was enough for me to say I didnt enjoy the games

Yeah the barricades were also a turn off for me. If you're gonna block me from going somewhere make it more subtle, also the fact that Alola is made up of 4 islands that you can't surf in between or have tiny islands in between each main island made it the worst region in my book.

They fucked up with gen 4, went back to the gen 3 philosophy with 5 but peyote complained, then they went with easier version of gen 1 with 6 which no one liked then they turned them into paths.

I dont even mind the island being small and islotated. Johto is small but I loved it. But everywhere felt too basic. Also the changed things so that you pass by locations rather than pass through them.

If HGSS was Gen 7, Moo Moo Farm would be fenced off and you would look at the cows from outside. You most likely be teleported from the bottom floor of the lighthouse to the top.

I miss it. It added a sense of adventure. The new games could easily heighten that adventure feel with their 3D, larger map sizes and fancy camera angles.

But they chose to make them straightforward and bland. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

No I feel as if its too much and not needed in this era of gaming. Sun and Moon got it right with trivial amount of exploring and only allowing trainers to have at most one Pokemon each really picked up the pace of the game. I've quit past Pokemon titles because of how needlessly grindy they are. I'm here to relax and have fun, not going on some tedious adventure. Makes me glad they removed HMs too. The less you need to prepare the better.
