Lucario and the Mystery of Mew I think has the most solid plot of the Pokemon films. I haven't watched any of the past 3 films though.

Besides the classic trio, this one has the mosr Movie feeling for me. I loved the general atmosphere of it.

The Keldeo movie is unironically one of my favorites. It doesn't have the cliche bad guy capture legendary plot, and the movie has the perfect amount of corniness.

Destiny Deoxys really is a fantastic movie. The climax gets a bit wacky with the robot swarm, but everything else about it is just incredible.

Never liked the movies past the first 3 or 4. They started to feel too cringy and full of japanese autism and I felt embarrassed watching them even as a kid.

I'm not even being a genwunner, how could anyone not say Mewtwo Strikes Back isn't the best one? All the other movies are basically living in it's shadow. The movie was well lauded in Japan for its story despite being the usual movie for a kids series.

I will say Pokemon 3 was pretty unique, I don't think any other Pokemon movie is really like that one in concept. Basically every movie after that one is either "bad guy wants to capture legendary Pokemon" or "Legendary Pokemon start fighting for reasons"
