It hides beneath and between the roots of large trees, waiting to ambush nearing prey. Utilizing its venom drenched fangs, it introduces a dangerous liquid into the victim's bloodstream and doesn't let go until they pass out, all the while drinking their blood. Forests known as Vegroto territory are generally inaccessible to the public.
The only known method of actively fending off a Vegroto is by removing larger amounts of its liquid coat and entering the Pokemon into a dry and sunny place, where it will instinctively let go and seek a damp, dark refuge in order not to dry out.

Evolves into (tree leeching dragon) if exposed to a Big Root or (swamp "draining" dragon) if exposed to some Luminous Moss, both at lv38 or higher.
It looks kind of like a cartoony crocodile with a fat neck (pic related, but its head makes up half of its body and its eyes are on the sides of the head rather than on top of it). You can't make out its teeth as its whole body (and by extension they) is completely coated in a vibrant red-pink liquid that becomes gradually brighter and yellow around its head and snout, the latter resembling a rather enticing flower (shining in delicious yellow as described) to lure in prey. This feature is supported by the heavy, beautiful scent that is emitted by Vegroto's protective liquid. It has chubby arms and strong legs to jump onto its victims.
