Why is Dodge a move in the anime but not the mainline games?

make it a non-priority move that only works if the pokemon moving goes first and give it a reduced 'accuracy' so it doesn't work every time. It would just be another stall, but it wouldn't be any more annoying than protect or detect.

It's not a move, but the games are more like simulations while the show is more as if you actually weren't in a simulation based on ones and zeroes.

I'm pretty sure that detect is a different move than simply dodge in the anime. Iirc Sceptile used detect in the pokemon league and dodge many attacks in a row while dodge could fail.
