It's also based on sauropods with its secondary brain near its legs and its obviously long neck. There are just many subtle ideas they tossed in and decided that making it a Dragon-type would make it more interesting and be at least partially justified.

also I'm aware that sauropods didn't actually have a second brain in their hips but gamefreak is stupid and it's still a widely-believed falsehood, so it's valid imo

The actual term of "dragon" is a lot more ambiguous than you'd think. It's only when dragons became mainstream in modern culture when most of them became scaly fire-breathing winged reptiles.

I appreciate the fact that Pokemon has its weirder, "unconventional" dragons. There are definitely plenty of "regular" dragons, but you got guys like pic related, too

I think that they’re going with a long necked tropical dinosaur sort of thing in order to make it dragon. It has cartoon monster/ dinosaur/ dragon like feet. A long tail that it uses like a whip and a long neck that is also a whip. Closest thing I can compare that too is a brontosaurus or something. Then there’s the fact that it got some crossover with tropius, which has been getting a lot of dragon moves added to it. And it’s also the only other pokemon that gets alolan exeggutor’s dragon hammer as an egg move.

I prefer OG Exeggutor (one of my top 10 favs) to Alolan Exeggutor

my understanding of the alolan forms was that GF took a look at the OG 150 and figured "here's some lines that don't have mega and are about to become non-viable and/or have been non-viable for a pretty long time," in spite of any Hidden Ability / other buffs they might've thrown them over the years

Alolan Egg Monster is neat and all but I would've preferred a BST buff to my boi

It being a dragon type is one of the coolest decisions GameFreak has made. I like unconventional dragons and they comprise pretty much all my favorite dragons. It would be way gayer if it was limited to just lame lizards like you uncreative faggots want. I definitely don't agree with GameFreak on everything but I thank god every day you retards aren't in charge of the games. Dragon has never been a taxonomically clear thing. If something has the same general feel of a dragon, it should be dragon type.

We think of them as just lizards but they usually have a feline gait, bat wings, a cow's horns and sometimes snout, and even canine teeth on some.
