I like the alola desert more but the unovan desert has the best pokemon distribution in the entire series, by a longshot, I could happily make a team out of only desert mons + fossils

Unpopular opinion time: I think Gens 6/7 despite having mediocre starter designs, have the best good to bad pokemon ratio of any generation besides gen 1.

Gen 5 has the worst ratio by far. There are maybe 5 pokemon lines i would miss if they were gone.

Unova has the best pokemon but the worst region by far, it's so boring with an even more boring OST
Sinnoh and Hoenn are much better in that department, they feel much bigger and far less linear with much more variety in their inner regions

Hoenn/Sinnoh were big and had lots to explore but that's where they started making things more linear, i liked the progression in gen 2 where at a certain point they'd let you go where you want and i wish they would kept improving on that by adding level scaling or something so that the level curve doesn't make the game boring

Unova has multiple unique gym themes, fantastic town themes (none of which are reused), the best route theme in the series, the best evil team themes, the best Elite Four theme, the best evil team leader theme, the best rival battle theme, and the low health theme as well as the Gym Leader's final Pokemon theme. That's to say nothing of the emotional tracks and the remixes of songs from past games in the PWT.

I'd say Gladion and Lusamine were good. Everyone else was generic shit for this franchise. Guzma has potential, but a lot of it, I feel, comes from people headcanoning his backstory.

Lillie was garbage. Bland waifubait you babysat in exchange for free heals. She's so prepackaged and safe. Hau is just Calem/Serena, but friendlier and obsessed with malasadas. Kukui, while more outgoing than his predecessors, is just "lol Pokemon moves."

I live in NY and have gone to NYC a bunch of times, Unova is a really good representation of the Northeastern US, complete with the patches of farmland that we have here for some reason. Even has PokeMexico.
