you will never get 2 regions ever again, this is because it was done for different reasons, GSC were meant to be the last games of the franchise, having the whole country of japan as a massive region with kanto being just a small city, instead we got johto and kanto.
Nowadays pokemon is a successful brand that prints money, they won't ever do such celebration again for the simple reason that putting to much effort on games that are meant to be discarded in 1-2 years is dumb compared to bare minimum to slightly above mediocrity

the games has been designed to cap at lvl 60-70 simply because they know using your method would imply more activities/areas which means more resources which means doing something outside of the required
at best we will get post game areas back but 2 regions and 1 subregion is the same as asking all regions back mmorpg, just a product of a childish mind that loves to get assfucked by GF each year
