Comparing Route 2 of Alola to literally every second route in all previous games shows how massively wrong you are because Route 2 of Alola has more going on in it and more open than all of the others. It has the Hau’oli Cemetery that is completely optional, Big Wave Beach, Verdant Cavern, the berry fields, the motel, the Pokémon Center, and if you actually visit every building, you even can discover Guzma’s home. Aside from that, there’s the alternate path that you reach from destroying the rocks with Tauros as well as additional split routes all over. It is literally THE most open Route 2 we’ve ever had. And that’s just one example. I’m not even going to talk about Route 1, which shits just about every Route 1, ESPECIALLY KALOS, in any other region bar maybe Johto.
