This particular screenshot looks fine but LGPE has a horrid shader that makes everything look like it's made of plastic and the animations are so low-effort that it honestly feels like a self-parody.
If you haven't seen the cutscene where that guy teaches Pikachu/Eevee Cut you should look it up.

I trust that they will, but I don't think the animations will be on par with the GC games.
I'm not sure if Creatures is being lazy or GF is being cheap, but either way I don't see all 800+ Pokemon getting their idle animations updated.

I think having a pokemon game set in an actually big city like Tokyo could be sick, but it'd mean you're there for most if not all of it because it's so big which I guess could get old. If it was like 50% city and 20% forest and 20% mountain and 10% beach or something it could work I think

Huh, what actually happens is it doesn't have unique animations for being confused, getting hit, etc. while in the air, so it plays the normal animation then goes back to the flying animation.
Weird, but I wouldn't call it lazy - although I'm surprised that confusion has its own animation instead of just being a visual effect.

It is. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The models are fine. GF actually put thought into something for once and future-proofed them for use on better systems. It's the animations that are utter shite for the most part.
