Did you actually finish the game? Bulbasaur becomes useless in the mid-late game where you face a succession of grass/poison/psychic/fire gyms along with team rocket who spam poison pokemon and the ghost tower

Strong against Brock, Misty, resists against Surge, resists to erika, have a nice Spe against Koga, loses to Sabrina and Blaine, strong against Giovanni.

Can win against Lorelei; strong against bruno; resistis to Agatha.

Bulbasaur is RBY easy mode.

Not really.
Bulb is good as a support mon and useful for the first few gyms.
Charmander is one of the only fire types, so if you want one you're going to have to pick him.
Squirtle is, the worst one as its outclassed by other water types with better stats that learn all the same moves it does.

Which exactly? Gyarados and the no sp attk? Lapras level 15 ? Everything else that is in seafome?

Water is always easy mode. Earthquake for electro types, ice beam for grass types. Swampert e.g. has only one time where it‘s useless, that‘s against growlythe.

Only played FR/LG or Trash Go because anyone who played the originals would know Poison moves didn't exist in any meaningful capacity at first, and not for Venusaur at all outside being able to poison or badly poison (which didn't matter since most of the Pokémon in question also can't be poisoned).

Though indeed it still has an advantage against the 4th AND 5th gyms for being neutral or resisting the main Pokémon in them.
