While /vp/ has a point about the level curve, it's blown way out of proportion and the Johto having shit distribution is false. The new routes and safari zone add so many new options that weren't in the originals. The Pokethalon, to this date, is still the only fun sidequest. There's thousands of hours of content between this and Platinum.
I want to say that Gen 5 came out too soon. I was still in the middle of the frontier and the competitive scene.(which by the way, was the best it ever was in Gen 4) I wish they would've waited another year or so for B/W. Maybe they would've gotten better sales if they held off and waited for everyone to actually finish Gen 4.
