If you caught them all in GSC, they let you use the printer in the Ruins of Alph. You could then use the Gameboy Printer to print out your own messages and such. There really wasn't much point to them.

Catching them all in Platinum makes sense if you have major balltism. Getting those stickers for the capsules is the only valid reason to catch every form
