They just exist to justify Gamefreak doing mildly weird obviously not Pokemon style Pokemon designs and to showcase as a """new feature""" when there's nothing really that new about them. They'll be forgotten in the future once Gen 7 is over and just sorta treated as other legendaries from that point forward.
