as far as the “shadow” aspects of dark, that’s already a thing w ghost type, as evidenced by moves such as “shadow ball” & “shadow claw”. the “light” counterpart for this could be psychic, which has moves such as “light screen” or “heal pulse”
then, if you’re thinking about “light” in the literal sense, that’s effectively covered by both electric and fire types, being sources of physical “light” or illumination.
therefore, a potential light type has been made redundant by the existence of 3 or 4 already existing types, and to add it would not only conplicate the effectiveness matrix, but would just be plain retarded. just like anybody who thinks GF should make a light type.
